Julianne E. Kallas focuses her practice on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, custody and parenting time, child support, college contribution, alimony, equitable distribution, and other related family matters. She understands that even in the most amicable circumstances, going through a divorce can be an anxious time for the entire family, and she makes a point of educating and informing clients of their rights and options throughout the legal process. She focuses on her clients’ ultimate goals and works to safeguard their rights to obtain the best possible resolution.
Well respected by her clients and peers, Julie is known for her zealous legal representation as well as her professional courtesy and integrity. Her legal knowledge and skillful advocacy in divorce and other family law issues give her clients the assurance that their case is being handled in a professional and efficient manner.
Julie is a strong negotiator and litigator with experience practicing civil litigation in employment law as well as environmental law. This background enhances her abilities in cross-examination and pre-trial preparations, as well as her ability to seek resolution in the courtroom when mediation is not an option in a family law matter.
Following graduation from law school, Julie clerked for the Honorable Bruce J. Kaplan in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Division, Middlesex County and later worked as a Partner in Hope Fellow with Partners for Women and Justice where she appeared in court on behalf of clients in custody and domestic violence matters.
During law school, she was a judicial intern for the Honorable Donald A. Kessler in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Family Part, Essex County, and a law clerk intern for the Essex Newark Legal Services Family Unit. Additionally, she served as a clinical student at the Seton Hall University School of Law Center for Social Justice, negotiating resolutions of divorce matters.
