Erika Handler, a partner at Weinstein Family Law, focuses her practice exclusively on matrimonial and family law, including divorce, custody and parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, relocation, post-dissolution matters and other related family matters. She is also experienced in residential real estate law which is invaluable when dealing with the distribution of assets in the divorce process that involves the sale of the marital home or other real estate holdings.
Erika understands that even in the most amicable of circumstances, going through a divorce can be a fear-provoking time for the entire family. She works tirelessly to ensure that her clients are educated and informed of their rights and options throughout the legal process. She is dedicated to guiding and protecting her clients through zealous advocacy, out of the box solutions, and a cognizance of the financial expense associated with divorce and family matters.
Prior to entering into private practice, Erika served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Thomas L. Weisenbeck, J.S.C., Morris County Family Part (now retired). During law school, Erika served as a law clerk for the Attorney General’s Office, Division of Youth and Family Services, Newark and volunteered with the law school’s Special Education Clinic working to secure school accommodations for children with special needs.

“I appreciate the enormity of emotion and unsurety my clients feel at the beginning of their divorce irrespective of the reason for the decline of the marriage. My priority is to ensure that my clients fully understand the process, their rights, and receive the highest quality of advocacy with the least amount of distress. I have an accessible personality style and work tirelessly alongside my clients to achieve a resolution that provides the security they need to move forward in their next chapter of life.”
