Jeffrey P. WeinsteinJeffrey P. Weinstein, born July 25, 1945, of Basking Ridge, N.J., and formerly of Short Hills, N.J., where his practice remains, died on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022.

Jeff loved his work as a family lawyer and built his practice on the values of empathy, compassion and communication. A tenacious and skilled advocate, he placed high value on civility, including amicable relationships with opposing counsel.

Clients turned to Jeff and Weinstein Family Law for advice navigating the landscape of divorce, custody and equitable distribution. Throughout his career, he aimed to help clients see the lives awaiting them after divorce, including the relationships with children and relatives that would continue, as well as support for the inevitable changes and emotions they faced along the way. Without fail he treated clients with respect and sensitivity for their situations and was committed to educating them on the process of a marital dissolution.

He felt that divorce need not always be adversarial from start to finish. His clients understood that he would guide them and try to resolve their matters through negotiation, offering them dignity and hope throughout the process. These values were always at the center of Jeff’s practice, and were embraced by those who worked with him at the law firm. His wife Ronnie helped achieve a hopeful office environment by creating gorgeous flower arrangements that beamed with positivity. His associates were encouraged to learn from him, to participate in the legal community and Inns of Court, and to share the same values of working hard, being compassionate, and finding reasonable solutions to help their clients and families.
